Abstract
While the hospital pharmacy holds a pivotal position in both the financial health of XYZ Private General Hospital and patient safety, the exorbitant cost of medication at this facility adversely affects patients and impedes the broader development of the healthcare system. This research constructs a system dynamics model using Vensim DSS to dissect the elements driving escalated pharmaceutical costs, including prescribing patterns among medical personnel that lean towards high-priced drugs. The model elucidates the imperative to disentangle financial inducements from prescribing decisions and to enact reforms within the drug distribution framework. The outcomes are anticipated to establish a framework for alternative policy interventions designed to mitigate pharmaceutical expenses while simultaneously preserving the standard of patient care.
