Abstract

Fast Patrol Vessel 60 meters (FPV 60 m) designed speed of 23 knots can be designated as patrol vessel and missile fast vessel. In this study, there are three innovative proposals for increasing the speed of a 60 meters fast patrol vessel. The first one is to modify the bow from conventional bow to axe bow. The second innovation is to create a numerical program for the selection of the propeller series, namely the B series or Gawn series. The third innovation is to create a numerical program based on lifting line theory in order to determine the induced velocity (UT and UA). Based on the values of UT and UA, it will be used for future research to increase the speed of the ship by designing a device in front of the propeller. The innovative half-axe bow can lower the total drag of the ship with a speed variation of 23-30 with an average of 9.58 kN (2.65%), lower than the conventional bow. The innovative half axe bow with B series propeller can increase the speed of 0.7 knots or 3.04%.
