N2 - Propolis has been considered as antioxidant, antibacterial, antinflammatory substance. These bioactive activities are due to high content of polyphenolic compounds, flavonoids, peptides etc. This study mainly uses natural beehives from Malang, East Java, Indonesia to obtain propolis extracts as main component. It focuses on the antioxidant activity and propolis composition. Propolis extracts which produced from different natural beehives sources (local and imported) carries different compositions. These propolis extracts contain phenolic and flavonoid compounds. Both local and imported propolis extracts exhibit the antioxidant activity.
