Abstract

The anthropogenic hazard in global warming and urbanization will cause coastal areas like Jakarta to sink in 2050. This phenomenon led to speculation that the sea will dominate the living space crisis. This study proposes the aquascape architecture idea that responds to nature's variable condition to respond to this problem. The tendency of future natural disaster needs to be answered by design for sustainable settlement. The concept-based framework generates design research, and the parametric design method is used to predict the scenario. By analyzing the subsidence literature prediction on sinking scenario, the responsive design will optimum be conducted. The result highlighted that adaptation brings humans to different forms of transformation from other living things. The human scale is translated by the sea flood regulatory for every environmental condition. Technology allows humans to adapt to a built environment in generating sustainable and adaptation in the watery building system. Humans change the surrounding environment to create the ideal environment through architecture as the medium by responding to an environmental stressor.
