Assessing the Relationship Between Regional Economic Advancement and Digital Activity

With its impressive growth, Indonesia has emerged as a leader in Southeast Asia's digital economy. GDP growth has historically been used to measure regional progress. The study classifies regions according to GDP growth and digital activity using Klassen's typology of regional progress. This framework has been improved to examine digital activity across various industries. Central Java is used in the study as a model developing region. Among the research questions are: How does digital activity in Central Java relate to regional economic progress and Does the growth of the regional economy correspond with the region's total digital activity, which varies depending on the business sector. A variety of sources, including hashtags, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Google Trends, will be used to collect data. The study will use Quantitative methods with involve statistical analysis to explore correlations between regional economic progress and digital activity metrics. The study intends to offer an extensive understanding of the connection between digital activity in Central Java and regional economic advancement. The findings are expected to offer valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders interested in promoting regional development through digital initiatives.
