Abstract

It is often noted that there is not a linear relation between the input signal from a controller and opening of a control valve, and this is the reason why a system which can solve this problem automatically is needed. In this paper present the design of an auto tuning valve positioner based on a PC which can tune automatically the range of the valve positioner based on the measured position of the valve opening. The result of real time application of this design on the process control training shows that it can improve the range opening of a valve from 36%-85% to 3%-100%.
