Abstract
The importance of understanding international network configurations and the key factors that companies should think about when setting up facilities across national borders are discussed. Firms intending to set up facilities or relocate their activities in foreign countries may fail to recognise the important aspects that need to be considered in making international configuration decisions. It is essential that companies should continuously appraise their value chain activities and seek opportunities for competitive advantage.
