Abstract

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is a type of municipal waste that contains a large amount of PET. The nature of PET waste that can pollute the environment has encouraged researchers to conduct research starting from selecting raw materials that are more environmentally friendly to encouraging PET waste from customers for recycling. This system is referred to as a reverse supply chain network or reverse logistics. The stakeholders in the reverse supply chain include waste sources, scavengers, collection centers, aggregators, remanufacturers, and the government. The purpose of this study is to develop a conceptual model for PET waste management in reverse logistics networks. Two approaches were conducted to create the flow process of PET waste management, literature studies and interviews. The importance of multi-stakeholder involvement, from households and informal waste pickers to aggregators, recyclers, and government policies, all working together to efficiently manage PET waste and integrate it back into the industrial cycle through recycling processes.
