Abstract

Thermal generating unit plays major role in power system. Pollutant produced affects the environmental issues. Considering single objective problem of economic dispatch only is not sufficient. This paper proposed cuckoo search algorithm to solve combined economic emission dispatch with cubic criterion problem. Various price penalty factors are utilized to transform multi-objective problem of combined economic emission dispatch into single objective problem. This proposed technique produces consistent excellent result for several test. The obtained results are also compared to other available method.
