Abstract

This study investigated surfactant removal on evapotranspiration bed that mixed with compost. Evapotranspiration bed planted with Yellow flag. The flow of wastewater containing surfactant was introduced at the subsurface of the bed. The flow arranged in a continuous and intermittent. Results revealed that compost determind the removal efficiency of anionic surfactant. Equal portions of sand and compost produced surfactant removal efficiency about 95%. This investigation also claimed no significant role of plant and flow mechanism on surfactant removal.
