Coordination of Electricity Protection in Piru Power Grid

Abstract

PT. Seram Energi Lestari, a developer company, is planned to interconnect Biomass Power Generation 2 x 3 MW with Piru 20 KV system PT. PLN Maluku and North Maluku Region. The purpose of this system development is expected to meet all load needs in Piru Island system. This interconnection system requires a study of electrical analysis both on Biomass Generation and the distribution network of PT. PLN itself. From the results of simulations and tests, correct setting and coordination values can be obtained, include characteristic curve of protection relay, where relay set is both overcurrent and ground fault relay. This study suggested longer gradation time for releasing CB to meet the needs of Piru to Kairatu load requirements. Result of research aims to improve reliability and continuity of new integrated power grid.
