Abstract

Various methods have been employed to reduce and even eradicate the population of the edamame bean pest Bemisia Tabaci. Conventional methods, compared with other studies, have been used to increase edamame harvesting efficiency. In addition, technological innovation is required to create effective pest and insect control, one of which is a device that traps pests with a system of lights that can reach agricultural areas. Therefore, Bemisia Tabaci pest trapping technology is developed based on centralized (off-grid) PLTS as an energy source on edamame farmland. With an off-grid solar-focused power supply, this energy is stored in batteries that previously passed through the solar charge controller. Battery electricity will be used to activate 560-590 nm LEDs on each pest trap for 12 hours in a day. The total number of LEDs required to trap the Bemisia Tabaci insect is 13 traps; each trap is connected in series with 3 3.2 V LEDs, which will then be installed in parallel and glued. The energy produced by the solar panels is 345,768Wh, and the energy from the use of insect traps is 229,368Wh. Thus, the equilibrium energy in the pest trap system with concentrated PLTS is 116.4 Wh. The trap can last six days when using a 100-Ah battery. Pest traps can operate at night and trap up to 583 different types of insects in one night. The range of the pest traps reaches 15 meters per trap, and the overall range reaches 1 hectare of agricultural area.
