Abstract

The various alternative analysis of the distribution system network toward the smart grid concept is considered a big challenge. Dynamic modeling of distribution networks concerning the integration of renewable energy resources and energy storage has been well considered for emulating distribution system reality. In this paper, we would like to solve dynamic distribution network reconfiguration with the proposed hybrid selective particle swarm optimization and interior point optimization (SPSO-IPOPT) method. This proposed method is enabled to handle the complexity of a dynamic reconfiguration problem that is composed of discrete and continuous variables. Due to maintenance action and the limited lifespan of switches in distribution, optimal network reconfiguration is implemented with the proposed strategy in the way that number of switching operations is minimized. Faulty-branch isolation and network reinstallation are also achieved. Moreover, optimal scheduling charge/discharge of the battery storage system as one of the temporal constraints is presented which respected setting a limit of 20% of the energy stored at the end of the period. for this simulation study, the standard distribution test system IEEE 33-bus is selected to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
