Abstract

Hierarchical ZSM-5 has been successfully synthesized from bauxite residue (red mud) as raw material after pre-treatment with alkali fusion and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as template with hydrothermal method. The effect of aging temperature on structural and textural properties of hierarchical ZSM-5 were investigated. The synthesized product was characterized using XRD, FTIR, N2 adsorption-desorption and SEM-EDX. The pattern of XRD and spectra of FTIR showed that the synthesized product had a MFI structure. We observed that aging temperature had an effect in hierarchical ZSM-5.
