N2 - Aluminum (Al) is identified as a highly promising material for use as a solid anode in energy storage applications. This study involves the electrodeposition of a zinc-manganese (Zn-Mn) layer onto aluminum 6061 to enhance its electrochemical properties. The investigation of the aluminum surface was conducted using techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the electrochemical stability window (ESW). To evaluate the electrochemical performance of the modified aluminum, parameters such as capacity, charge transfer resistance (Rct), and corrosion resistance were analyzed. The results indicate that the deposited aluminum exhibits a faradaic current and demonstrates reversible current behavior with a shift towards the negative potential region in comparison to Al 6061. The measured specific capacity and energy density of the aluminum are 312.5 mAh. g-1 and 164.15 m W h. g-1 per gram, respectively. These results underscore the enhanced electrochemical properties of the deposited aluminum, suggesting its potential for future use in Al-air batteries.
