Abstract

An investigation of electron transport of the modified Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) photoanode using Au-Silica Microsheet has been conducted. The silica was obtained using silica gel, tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a precursor, and extracted silica from Lapindo mud. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was employed to investigate the charge transport properties such as transfer resistance and electron lifetime. Different sources of silica produce different impedance spectra, which correlates to the overall performance, possibly due to the different structures obtained and the ability of Au to attach to silica.
