Abstract
Implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) in health information systems has been a significant focus on efforts to improve patient health data management in real-time. However, data security has become a considerable concern, especially when sensitive health information is sent through IoT networks vulnerable to cyber-attacks. The research proposes using an authentication mechanism using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) to improve the security of IoT networks in health information systems. The ECC method ensures robust security by utilizing shorter keys, a critical feature in constrained situations like the IoT network. The technique employs the Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) and the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm for encrypting data. Our research methodology involves analyzing security needs in health IoT networks, modeling authentication schemes, implementation on hardware platforms, and testing the performance and security of such schemes. The simulation results demonstrate that the suggested authentication techniques offer robust security and satisfactory performance in an IoT network environment.
