Abstract

Heart Wearable devices are increasingly utilized for health monitoring, particularly in tracking heart rate. However, hand motion artifacts often lead to inaccuracies in sensor readings, undermining data reliability. Understanding the factors affecting noise detection during hand motion artifacts is crucial for enhancing wearable device performance in heart rate monitoring. This study aims to investigate the factors influencing noise detection in wearable devices during hand motion artifacts. Key factors considered include the type and intensity of hand movements, device placement, and sensor technical characteristics. A series of experiments were conducted where participants performed various hand movements while wearing the wearable device. Data generated were analyzed to identify noise patterns occurring during hand motion artifacts. The influence of these factors on data quality, especially in heart rate detection, was examined. Analysis revealed significant correlations between noise detection and hand movement characteristics. Different types and intensities of hand movements affected sensor readings differently. Device placement also played a crucial role in noise detection. The findings provide insights into how these factors impact sensor performance and data accuracy in wearable devices.
