Abstract

Weight areas mostly determined manually and done by animators after the rigging process. This area related to the range of changes that occur on the surface of a model's face as a result of the influence of bones movement. This research proposed a method to automatically generating weight paint area using modified nearest-neighbor classifier based on feature point marker. The results obtained were able to show the process of forming weight area in the 3D Cartoon Face Models automatically and dynamically to the bone position and shape of the face surface.
