Abstract
This chapter investigates the marine tourism conditions in Indonesia before the COVID-19 pandemic and identifies the potential and challenges for developing sustainable geo-marine tourism as a tool for recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, while building the path to serve luxury yachters. Specifically, this chapter presents a conceptual model on how geo-marine tourism can be differentiated as a new marine product for luxury yacht tourist markets, who seek unique marine experience with additional value to community development. This chapter suggests key strategies to maximize socio-economic benefits of sustainable marine tourism through collaboration among stakeholders and adopting a participatory management approach, including geo-marine tourism as part of product differentiation strategies for yacht tourists, collaboration for human resource development, local enterprise development and streamlining the geo-marine tourism policies at the local level with the goal of strengthening both domestic and international yacht tourism.
