abstract = "This paper proposes a method for constructing a harmonic analyzer prototype used to monitor harmonics caused by a power source generated by a car inverter. The prototype is called Harmonic Monitoring of Car's Inverter (HMC'sI). hMc'sI consists of a current sensor and a microprocessor for data processing and monitoring HMC'sI utilizes PC with Matlab software. The advantage of HMC'sI is that the harmonics that occur can be directly monitored on matlab. so that the analysis of the harmonics that occur as well as simulation steps to reduce the harmonics can be directly simulated. In addition, the price of HMC'sI is very cheap, about one-twentieth times the price of harmonic analyzer commonly sold in the market. The observation is focused on Harmonic 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th, then calculated Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) by reference to the standard IEEE 519. from the experimental results it is known that HMC'sI can detect harmonics that occur well with a standard deviation of 1.5% compared to laboratory scale Harmonic Analyzer.",
