Identifying Presidential Candidate Keywords in Indonesia Online Political News Using Word Embedding

The rapid development of online news portals has created intense competition in Indonesia's online news industry. Political reporting on the president in mass media, including online news, plays a crucial role in the electoral process and in shaping public opinion. However, this reporting tends to be susceptible to issues that can influence the public's perception and political participation. Therefore, it is important to identify similarities in words related to Indonesian presidential candidates through online media coverage. The methodology used in this study employs word embedding using the Word2Vec model to predict the similarities in words associated with these presidential candidates. The Word2Vec analysis regarding presidential candidates demonstrates the correlation of keywords with each candidate. Anies Baswedan is associated with politics and support, Muhaimin Iskandar with familial relationships, Mahfud MD with other notable figures, and Prabowo Subianto indicates potential in the election. Ganjar Pranowo's connection is with his current position and potential future candidacy, while Gibran Rakabuming Raka is linked to his role as mayor and association with Solo.
