Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications on Sea Level Rise (SLR) in Indonesia, with a focus on Demak Regency, Central Java. The paper examined publication trends, collaboration networks, research fields, and gaps. Our results show a two-decade increase in SLR publications, with environmental sciences (40%) and geosciences (30%) dominating, along with notable international collaborations. Research in Demak has shifted from descriptive studies to adaptive approaches, including spatial modelling and ecosystem-based solutions. However, significant gaps remain in policy, governance, and socio-economic impact assessments. To enhance academic and policy contributions, future research should prioritize multidisciplinary approaches that integrate social sciences with ecology and build local research capacity to support sustainable coastal adaptation strategies. This study provides insights into the evolution of SLR research in Indonesia and highlights areas for future investigation.
