Abstract
Indigenous Knowledge is important for maintaining cultural identity and sustainable development, but academic studies on this topic are still limited in some regions. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to identify trends, clusters and research gaps. Out of 4,307 articles identified from 1979 to July 18, 2024, 67 were selected as primary references for further research. The findings reveal a weak connection between indigenous knowledge and knowledge management systems (KMS), as well as a dominance of research in the African continent. Therefore, the development of KMS based on local contexts is urgently needed in other regions.
