Abstract

Pregnant mother and infant have different treatment and nutrients needs than everyman. An appropriate medical care and source of nourishments can optimize infant development and also ensure mother's safety during childbirth. Accordingly, it is important to give a proper information for pregnant mothers and parents on how to give suitable treatment and nutrient. This study focus on developing mobile encyclopedia application for pregnancy and infant. Forward chaining method was utilized as expert system in giving nutrient recommendation for pregnant mother and infant. There are several health conditions that were used in the inference rules. Diabetes, hypertension, vegetarian where employed for pregnant women inference rules, while for infant food the rules include baby's age and allergies. To sum up, there are 8 rules for pregnancy nutrient and 52 rules for infant nutrient. Black box testing result showed that all features works well and recommendation features suggested food in accordance to health condition.
