Salt drying using rotary dryer can be developed using modeling and simulation. However, the salt drying using rotary dryer is quite a complicated due to difficulties in estimated drying rate parameter. So that, laboratory experiments of salt drying using tray dryer are proposed to estimate the drying rate for simulation and modeling purpose. Afterwards, the mathematical model will be validated with operational data from salt industry. In the performance of rotary dryer. The experiment data based modeling results showed that performance of rotary dryer process effected by operating variables (drying air temperature, flow rate of drying air, obliquity and rotation speed of rotary dryer).
