Abstract

Nowadays, Industry 4.0 has become a necessity in the era of industrialization. One of its applications is in the electricity sector, which has long experienced limited innovation. However, with the emergence of prosumers, signs of transformation and operational improvement have accelerated. This development is aligned with the vision of the electricity utility company to accelerate digitalization on the operational side. These initiatives focus on improving reliability, network efficiency, and enabling data-driven decisions in the electricity energy supply chain. The implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is expected to answer these challenges. The large number of customers makes AMI deployment challenging. Therefore, a specific strategy is required to support this implementation program gradually. In this study, the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was used as a decision support approach to determine the priority criteria for AMI deployment. The results indicate that experts agreed on four main criteria in selecting AMI deployment locations. Among these, the functional aspect was identified as the most important criterion with a weight of 0.43, followed by the technical aspect with 0.29, the company aspect with 0.26, and the last is social aspect. Several subcriteria were also found to strongly support successful implementation after applying hierarchical weight aggregation, including theft losses with 0.20 of weight, followed by bad debts' 0.15 of weight, GIS mapping accuracy with 0.12 of weight, communication infrastructure with 0.11, complaint issues with 0.09, electricity sales growth with 0.07, customers per substation with 0.07, and the last is household sector dominated with 0.06 of weight.
