Abstract
This study examines how mutual adjustment improves data quality, which is an overlooked area in prior research, through a qualitative case study in an Indonesian MRO organisation. Maintenance dynamics and ERP systems often lead to data inconsistencies and delays due to unexpected findings and changes in the scope of work. Using validated open coding, triggers and initial responses are identified as the first mutual adjustment activities. Findings reveal that Delayed Information and Outdated Data trigger "communicate"first to address data inaccuracies, which may be followed by "coordinate". In addition, the Deviated Data, Mismatched Data, and Urgent Changes prompt "coordinate"first, aligning the first activity to resolve data inconsistencies. This finding extends Mintzberg's coordination mechanism and offers practical implications for enhancing data quality.
