Abstract

Online Food Delivery (OFD) is a service innovation that significantly impacts current technological developments in the food and beverage sector. This paper aims to review the academic literature on OFD services systematically. This study reviews all literature published from 2017 until 2022. Literature is classified based on the context, the theory, and the factors influencing the adoption of OFD. The results of this study indicate that twenty-one factors have a dominant influence on OFD adoption. These factors are classified into three categories, namely individual factors, technological factors, and external factors. This study highlights that individual factors are the most commonly used factors for OFD adoption. This study outlines directions for future research and allows a detailed view of consumer behavior in OFD businesses.
