Abstract

Kartini Reactor is research reactor type that was built in 1979 and operate until currently. Over time, reactors undergo ageing that decrease of the reactor's performance. One of the important components on Kartini Reactor is Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger (HE) that functions to remove heat generated by the reaction in the reactor to the environment that undergo decrease performance that indicated with fouling mechanism. Efforts to mitigate aging carried out by maintenance program. However, maintenance data of HE too limited, so for determine performance of HE with using pressure drop data. Additionally, pressure drop would correlate as capital cost function and it carried out optimization to found operation, HE is efficient or not.
