Abstract

Battery inverters enable bidirectional energy exchange between storage systems and the grid, ensuring efficient utilization of renewable energy. However, nonlinearities, load fluctuations, and parameter uncertainties challenge conventional PID-based controllers. This paper presents a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) designed to enhance inverter performance in both charging and discharging modes. Unlike traditional methods, the proposed controller adaptively manages nonlinear dynamics without requiring precise system models, resulting in improved transient response and current stability. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate that FLC achieves up to 90% faster rise time and smoother current regulation than PID, proving its robustness and suitability for smart grid applications.
