Abstract

Environmental issues related to carbon dioxide emissions, especially in the scope of energy production, encourage widely application of green living concept in educational institution, one of them is Al-Umanaa Boarding School, Sukabumi. Depletion of fossil-fuel resources also triggers energy conservation and renewable energy utilization, supported by Indonesian government who has target of using 23% of primary energy is from renewable energy. Collaboration between Sustainable Energy Movement (SEM) and Electrical Energy Conversion Research Laboratory (EECRL), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) develops an energy curriculum in Al-Umanaa Boarding School to support its green living concept. This curriculum consists of energy conservation program, daily energy saving, and grid-tied PV system application. Installed PV system uses 1.8 kWp PV panel and inverter module with integrated MPPT. This paper shows the results of installed PV system's energy production that is recorded from self-developed energy measurement and data logger module. From its energy production, utilized solar potential and financial savings are explained.
