Performance evaluation using lean six sigma and overall equipment effectiveness: An analyzing tool

Abstract

Today, the competitive environment in the global marketplace is getting tighter. Companies will always try to find and improve its productivity. This has made the performance measurement system becoming an important requirement, especially for the manufacturing process. In this paper, two methods of performance measurement are combined and then used to measure the various types of production losses and find indications for improvements along the process flow. Both methods are Overall Equipment Effectiveness-OEE and Lean Six Sigma-LSS.
