abstract = "PT. Cheil Jedang, Jombang-Indonesia is is a company that operates in the feed and livestock sector, in particular is producing MSG. One of the machines used for production is a fermentor machine. High production targets cause the fermentor machine to extra work so adversely affects the engine components especially on gear box that caused by overheating oil temperature. Overheating occurs because the heat exchanger system works not consistent to keep temperature. Robust control system and adjust the system working time applied to the heat exchanger engine. PID control provided can accelerate the response, but there is a high overshoot. Then the MPC control that is applied is able to give better results than the PID control in terms of rise time and without overshoot. The combination of PID-MPC controls applied is not able to provide better results than MPC control.",
