Abstract

Postural body analysis was recently evaluated using distant and non-contact digital anthropometry. The implementation coverage could be enhanced by accessible technology utilization. Using a commercially marketed camera, it can produce an accurate and precise non-contact infant anthropometric postural analysis system with automatic segmentation and pose detection from two perpendicular images. The system can provide an excellent precision level, i.e., between 0.30% and 2.18%, in comparison to manual measurement, which was between 2.58% and 8.62%, as well as a low range of errors, i.e., between 0.32% and 3.5%, which reflect discrepancies from the manual measurements.
