Abstract
The growth of electricity consumers causes increasing problems on the stability of power systems. Meanwhile, efficiency of operational method is also an important issue. The objective of this paper is to combine economic and stability analysis at once. This is done by scheduling electricity generation considering steady state stability limit. The proposed method is derived from REI-Dimo equation, and the objective function is obtained by optimization process using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The result of simulation shows that using PSO, lower operational cost and higher stability steady state limit can be achieved. It is expected that this method can be an alternative in optimal operation in power systems.
