Abstract

Mathematics learning, especially on the topic of fractions, is often considered difficult by most students, which necessitates efforts to enhance students' interest and understanding in learning mathematics. Mathematics learning activities require an interactive digital learning media to enhance the quality of education. This research aims to develop and test the practicality of the MathFrac Edu game application, which is based on interactive multimedia and caters to the three learning styles of students: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. This research employs the research and development (R&D) method. We use the Digital Game-Based Learning-Instructional Design (DGBL-ID) model as the development model. The DGBL-ID model necessitates the execution of five stages: analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and implementation and evaluation. In this study, we only carried out the design until the quality assurance stage. At the quality assurance stage, there is a practicality test, and the subjects are the 4th-grade teachers A, B, C, and D at Muhammadiyah 1 Ketelan Elementary School in Surakarta. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire distributed during the practical testing process. The media feasibility test resulted in an average score of 89.2, indicating a very valid level of validity. The fourth-grade teacher's material feasibility test obtained an average score of 80.35, indicating a valid level of validity. The application's practicality test by the fourth-grade teacher yielded an average score of 81.9, indicating that it is very practical to use. Overall, the teacher finds the MathFrac Edu application highly practical and suitable for use as a learning medium for mathematics on fractions in 4th grade elementary school.
