Abstract

Nowadays, nanosized Fe3O4/PVA fibers become promising materials in various advanced applications. Therefore, preparation and characterization become the essential aspects before applying the nanosized Fe3O4/PVA fibers in specific targets. In this work, we reported the preparation of the nanosized Fe3O4/PVA fibers from iron sand using co-precipitation and electrospinning techniques. The data analysis of the XRD data for the Fe3O4 particles presented a single phase of magnetite in cubic structure and crystallized in nanometric scale. The data of the SEM/EDAX characterizations revealed that the Fe3O4 nanoparticles have already been joined into the PVA fibers. In conclusion, the experimental result showed that the higher the Fe3O4 nanoparticles that enter into the PVA, the less the size of the fibers.
