N2 - This paper provides a report on a continuing research project on the development of rain attenuation mitigation techniques for millimeter-wave wireless access to be implemented in tropical regions characterized by heavy rain events. The study is divided into three facets, namely, modeling of rain attenuation, designing of adaptive mitigation schemes, and cross-layer optimization of millimeter-wave broadband access network. The reported results are those obtained since 2009 comprising progresses in the three facets.
