Abstract

Pipelines are the most frequently failed parts of oil production installations. Therefore, the safety of underwater gas pipelines became a very concerned focus in this study. This study aims to assess the risk of the pipeline due to changes in the new ABC Port shipping line that have the potential to pose a risk of pipeline damage. This study conducted a risk assessment on pipes at PT. XYZ due to anchor dropping, anchor dragging, and sinking ships. Based on the risk assessment that has been carried out on all risks, it is found that the level of risk is in an acceptable area and in the ALARP zone (As Low as reasonably Practicable Risk). Based on the results of the analysis using Ansys structural software, the maximum value of equivalent stress that occurs in the pipe due to dropped anchor can be received is no more than 0.9 of the SMYS (Specified Minimum Yield Stress) value of 4.05E+08 Pa.
