abstract = "Gas distribution system is the final stage of production before the produced gas is delivered to customers. The oil and gas industry carries high potential hazards and risks. Therefore, risk assessment becomes a crucial part in determining whether a system can operate safely or requires additional safety measures. The HAZOP method provides a systematic approach to analyze the risks in industrial processes. Risk is the combination of likelihood and consequence, or in this study, it is further referred to as severity. There are two nodes in this study, and each node has vary of risk rank. Overall 18.18% risk rank in low category and 81.82% risk rank in medium category. This study offers a qualitative evaluation of the risk associated with the sales gas distribution of an oil and gas company through a HAZOP study. The risk matrix proves to be a valuable tool for assessing the potential severity and likelihood of failures. By applying this risk matrix, which is guided by specific criteria for different levels of severity and likelihood, it assigns a numerical risk ranking in the HAZOP worksheet. This ranking provides a comprehensive overview of a given scenario.",
