Abstract

Indonesia has ocean potential energy as a renewable energy source, since around 2/3 of the area consists of water. On the other hand, Indonesian people also work as fishermen. Seawater battery is one of renewable energy sources proposed in the study. It is applied in a sailing boat especially for cooling system when fishermen sail for long time to cool some fish until they arrive in the land and are ready to sell. The salinity is the most important thing to generate power in seawater battery. The value of it always changes in every location, so the power would be fluctuating. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is proposed for tracking the maximum power point of seawater battery. The result shows that PSO succeed to track the maximum power point in spite of the changes of seawater salinity.
