Abstract

This study performed a structural assessment on an existing two-story reinforced concrete building built in 1986 to gain information regarding the building's current condition against operational and standard load. In addition, the destructive and non-destructive test was conducted on the building to obtain the actual material property and reinforcement detailing. The test result showed that the average concrete compressive strength from several concrete core drill compression tests was 9.39 MPa. Several non-destructive test also shows a similar result. The structural analysis is performed based on actual material strength data. It shows that the structural capacity is lower than the actual operational load. Based on these data, a scheme of structural retrofitting is proposed to meet structure requirements.
