Abstract

Focusing on user experience, this project undertook a complete overhaul of the SIDATA website to streamline the registration process for academic publication support. Employing a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach, the researchers leveraged a multi-pronged strategy. This included in-depth interviews conducted within user environments, detailed observations of user behavior, and iterative user testing. These methods proved instrumental in uncovering critical usability roadblocks and informing the development of effective design solutions. The revamped interface underwent rigorous evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS), demonstrating a significant improvement in the score, a testament to both enhanced user satisfaction and improved functionality. This research serves as a compelling illustration of the power of UCD in optimizing the usability of academic information systems, as demonstrably evidenced by the substantial rise in the SIDATA website's SUS score.
