N2 - A trimaran ship is a ship that has three hulls, where the main hull is in the middle, and is flanked by two smaller hulls (sidehull). The existence of two sidehulls makes trimaran ships have much better stability than monohull ships. The researcher wishes to control speed and maneuverability by implementing a hybrid propulsion system which is a combination of mechanical and electrical propulsion systems on trimaran ships. Between the mechanical and electrical propulsion systems, a placement separation is carried out which will facilitate its operation. The control method uses a neural network because it is able to process experimental data carried out by researchers obtained from the results of experiments in the field. The results of this study obtained a satisfactory value because the speed and maneuver control with the neural network method has an error value of less than 1%. So that if later implemented with a hybrid propulsion system on trimaran ships, the crew will easily choose which propulsion system to use by considering distance, speed and maneuverability.
