N2 - The synthesis and anticancer study of 5,7-dibromoisatin-derived hydrazine carbothioamide and its nickel(II) complex are reported in this study. The ligand was successfully synthesized from 4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazide and 5,7- dibromoisatin. The ligand and its complex were characterized by spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, NMR, MS) and thermogravimetric analysis. The complex has shown LC50 result of 270 ug/mL in anticancer test using HeLa cells.
