Abstract

Every region has certain geological characteristics and history in terms of geomorphological aspect, stratigraphy and geological structure. One of the functions of knowledge on geological condition of a region is to determine natural resources potential in the region. The location of this study was Sukadamai Village, Mantewe Sub-District, Tanah Bumbu Regency. In Tanah Bumbu Regency, there are many open mine areas with varying pit diameters, including in Mantewe Sub-District. To determine the geological condition of the research location, observation was performed using geoelectricity measurement and field geological observation methods. Based on data analysis, it’s determined that: a) The geomorphology of the research location consists of undulating terrain unit and sloping terrain unit; b) The lithology in the research location consists of 4 units, i. e. layered limestone unit, sandstone unit, claystone and shale intercalation unit and coal and shale intercalation unit; c) The geological structure in the research location is fold, i. e. Mantewe fold, which is syncline and reverse fault is estimated to be Mantewe; d) Mantewe fold is a plunging asymmetric fold with a plunge to the south and a tilt around 8°.
