Methods included study of existing plant species, and potential utilization of local wisdom plant species. Experiments on the potential of plants used carbon dioxide absorption test. The study results showed that most of local waterfront vegetations have higher carbon dioxide specific absorption rate compared with land vegetation of greenspace. The rank of specific absorption rate of vegetation species is Pandanus tectonius at the highest rate with Arthocarpus heterophylus at the lowest rate. The determination of local vegetation species is coastal local wisdom of Makassar city.
