N2 - Building's design complexities caused the essential need of multiple disciplines participants and the implementation of collaborative design's concept in its process. Participants' diversities made collaboration is difficult to be applied. The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has important role in supporting collaborative design process, particularly if the participants are geographically dispersed. ICT has been developed in collaborative design, both practically and theoretically. Previous studies of collaborative design researches had found the used of ICT produced issues that generated failures in achieving best design as an integrated solution. Knowledge Management (KM) is found to be crucial factor in supporting ICT-based collaborative design, especially in realizing integrated collaborative design. This study aims to discover issues, roles, and impacts of KM to achieve integration in ICT-based collaborative design practices. Both qualitative and quantitative studies were applied. Qualitative study through literature review was conducted to construct the conceptual model of KM. Subsequently, quantitative study was applied to empirically confirm the conceptual model to designers and consultants whom have experience in design process of high-rise buildings by using correlation and regression analysis. The results of this study are conceptual and empirical model of KM and ICD, in which the model can be used to develop ICT-based tools and systems in achieving Integrated Collaborative Design (ICD).
