Abstract

This river movement modeling was made to analyze the complex river meanders hydraulic process, for this purpose Brantas River was used as a model real in field. The river flows along 320 km around Mount Kelud, an active volcano. On the downstream there were segments of this river meanders that was ideal for the river meanders movement modeling. The results of this analysis obtained two special points on cross section in meanders river that were: 1. At the inflection point of the river flows, which is in equilibrium condition. 2. At half of the curve angle is the movement of the winding river, which is at maximum condition. 3. Sedimentation occurs in deep bends and erosion occurs in the outer bend. 4. The direction of the winding river movement is outside the bend and downstream side.
